After retiring, Robert C. Wentworth and his wife June left Long Island and took up permanent residency in their Deerfield Beach home in South Florida. Wentworth had extensive experience in procedural and technical writing in the course of his airline business career, but creative writing has always been his real passion. He says his writing is very creative since he does not work from a plot outline, or for that matter even knows ahead of time how the story will evolve. He says the characters seem to control their own destinies while he watches. "It’s not mysticism," he said, "it’s just spontaneity. I write what comes to mind at the time."
Keeping Tigers is told in the first person from the perspective of its principle characters, and is unencumbered by heavy descriptive passages. Wentworth’s writing style is clear and crisp with well defined characters you feel you know personally.
